Competent Person Fall Protection in Theaters (16FALL)

When:  Aug 25, 2016 from 08:30 to 17:00 (ET)
Working at height presents routine challenges and significant risks in performing arts operations and productions. Serious injuries or fatalities can occur as a result of a fall from height while working or performing in the theater.

Applying OSHA standards and usual control methods developed for the roofing and construction industries can be difficult in the performing arts. With these thoughts in mind, a two-day Fall Protection Competent Person Training was developed to target theater operations staff and the work activities conducted in theater activities. The training will allow individuals to better recognize, evaluate, and develop controls for the types of hazards that exist in many theater venues and operations. The training is based on the ANSI Z359.2 - 2007 (Minimum Requirements for a Comprehensive Managed Fall Protection Program) Competent Person criteria and Fed-OSHA 1926.503(a) Fall Protection Standard for the Construction Industry.

Participants can expect two full days of training starting at 8:30 a.m. on Aug. 25. Registration includes all course materials and lunch on both days.
